your kindness can help transform lives
Many rural Nepali children have never experienced quality early education – safe buildings, stocked with educational materials and a well-trained teacher to lead the class are luxuries they just can’t access.
First Steps Himalaya is changing all that.
With help from hundreds of generous donors, First Steps Himalaya (FSH) is able to work in 75 classrooms in 26 schools across 3 districts in Nepal (as of January 2019). FSH works to create child-friendly classrooms that are clean, well-resourced and conducive to learning. It provides practical hands-on teacher training to create skilled and passionate teachers who are capable of stimulating and fostering a love of learning in their students.
With your help, we are changing lives … one classroom at a time.
Become a change-maker with us.
With one-off donations of NZ$40, NZ$100, or NZ$200 you can support FSH to supply stationery and educational materials, to fund a quality early childhood teacher’s salary for one month, or to fund the initial training of a teacher, which provides immediate improvement in the classroom.
Or, with a monthly contribution of NZ$40 you can become a Friend of First Steps Himalaya and join other change-makers from around the world who are helping to change hundreds of lives. Your monthly donations will support the ongoing running of FSH’s projects in Nepal, and enable us to spread our work even wider, helping more classrooms and children in rural Nepal.
Friends of First Steps Himalaya will receive bi-annual reports detailing the current state and developments of our projects. You’ll be able to see where your valuable contribution has gone as this report - written by our directors - features plenty of photos and details of what we do.
